When Those Who Should Protect You Don’t

What happens when your protectors become part of the problem?

Do you ever feel like you are alone in your fight against a workplace bully?

Even though those who you have reported the behaviour to, who claim to have your psychological and physical safety as the focus yet don’t?

I hear you! I have been fighting for 7 months, and no one will talk with me directly. Now you would think that as a victim you are kept up to date on everything but no, often you are kept out of the loop, left in the dark so to speak.

If they don’t like the fight that’s saving me that’s fine, I will fight every day, knowing my head is raised high and that my truths will be told and those in time will be exposed for their lack of compassion or action.

I am taking back every part of me; this is my soul this is my stance and my fight.

Sometimes the drain of fighting against what is right makes you almost give up and say whatever and sometimes the drain is what keep you going.

In my story the drain of fighting has been unbearable, walking on eggshells, feeling ill, not sleeping, almost having a complete breakdown but for me there has always been this little voice saying nope do not give up. I pull strength from knowing that when I am finished this person will never pull their manipulation, coercive control on anyone else in my industry. I stand up for the ones who had been hurt and destroyed before me, I stand up for awareness of the behaviors.

So, back to the topic at hand, those who should protect you but do not. Since the day I started this fight, I have been left out of every bit of communication, I have had to continually contact them and fight for me, fight to get any tiny bit of a snippet from day one and you know what is not fair? The fact that I am the victim in all of this, yet I have been basically completely cut out where they have now come out and said they won’t speak with me directly. Geez that’s a reality slap in the face!

Now I get these matters can be complicated and no you don’t have to tell me the ins and outs of everything but come on, how about a bit of something, such as an email that says ‘we understand this is hard for you yet rest assured we are still progressing with the matter’. Something as simple as that would be wonderful yet alas no, they cannot even give me that, it is like I do not exist except to be the problem which started all of this and made their workload increase.

I am interested though to know if other industries/companies but their employees through this type of psychological torture? Is it just a government thing or is it more of a widespread issue.
